The time is drawing nearer to the 20th anniversary celebrations and we thought we’d let ya’ll know that over the past couple of weekends we’ve been busy  down the Katatonia HQ practicing a whooping two dozen songs for the upcoming tour. We have some really cool surprises coming up and can reveal that about 4 songs have rarely been played live before and 6 tracks have never been played live before!!! The rest of the songs are a variation of oldies that we haven’t played for a long time and of course also some of the newer stuff. Katatonia has been confirmed special guests to Opeth at the Arenele Romane, Bucharest, Romania on June 5th. Peaceville will release special editions of  Last Fair Deal Gone Down and Night Is The New Day on April 25 to coincide with a series of shows that marks our 20th anniversary. The 10th-anniversary edition Last Fair Deal Gone Down will be presented in deluxe mediabook packaging, as a two-disc edition containing all the tracks from the now hard-to-find singles Teargas and Tonight’s Music. The reissue of 2009′s Night Is The New Day comes complete  with bonus tracks taken from the The Longest Year EP, as well as ‘Ashen’, lifted from the original limited version of the album. Both titles will be presented with new alternative cover artwork courtesy of original artist Travis Smith.

Svart records two-part journey into the prehistory of Katatonia, the Swedish masters of all things dark and emotive, started last year with a double vinyl reissue of their debut album. Its conclusion happens now with a deluxe double vinyl version of their third album Discouraged Ones. The original vinyl version from 1998 had the entire album stuffed on a single LP, resulting in lower sound quality. The Svart version has the album split over three LP sides and features the songs from the rare ‘Saw You Drown’ EP (Quiet World & Scarlet Heavens) as bonus tracks. Available on double vinyl with 350 gsm uncoated gatefold jacket plus insert. Available on black (ltd to 300) and transparent orange (ltd to 500) vinyl.

WOW Brazil! You guys proved to be the loudest bunch on the whole tour! Rarely have we seen such passion and enthusiasm in the audience from the start till the end and its not often we get our own monitors completely drowned by a choir in the audience. Sao Paolo, we love you!

This awesome night ends our first ever South American tour and we wanna thank each and everyone of you who came out and rocked with us! We also wanna thank the promoters and especially our crew: Scott, Steve and Thom for keeping the wheels in motion.
