NEW EP FEATURING UNRELEASED TRACKS PLUS 2 VIDEOS

The Longest Year, a new four track EP from Swedish masters of melancholy Katatonia is released on Peaceville Records on March 15th.

Alongside new single The Longest Year, taken from the recent Night is the New Day album, this new EP also features the previously unreleased track Sold Heart, Day & Then the Shade remix and an alternative version of Idle Blood plus the videos for both The Longest Year directed by Charlie Granberg (Katatonia, My Dying Bride) and Day & Then The Shade directed by Lasse Hoile (Porcupine Tree, Opeth).

The EP is now available to pre-order from the Peaceville store. The video for The Longest Year will be online next week so check back for more details. Here are a couple of stills from the shoot.

1 week has passed and no video. The same thing happened back when they announced the release of the website for the new album (it only got released 3 weeks after the 1st announced release date) so I guess Katatonia (or whoever is responsible for this "release" thing) is failling hard out here.

Maybe we only got to see the video when the Longest Year EP gets released. I guess that´s probably why they´re holding back the video release in order to keep it "new" for the EP or something.

The week ends today and no video whatsoever...Is there a delay ahead or something? If the video is already done, why don´t release it already? It looks awesome, judging by the stills at least, although, the "vibe" seems to resemble "Deliberation" video with some sort of sepia touch going on or so. Anyway, can´t wait to put my eyes on it. I´m hoping for a late night release.

Wrong. Practically anywhere you go either Saturday or Sunday is the end of the week. Unless you're from Kenya ... Most of Europe in particular consider Sunday to be the end of the week so give them till then before you start with the complaining.

it seems better than "day and then the shade video" i think this is back with the themes that i like about them ,but i've just saying it cause of the photography of the vid that really looks so good

I can honestly say, even only by those pics, that Charlie Granberg has captured the feel of NiTND perfectly.
The setting, effects and overall colors are exactly how I imagined the Day and the Shade-video would be before I actually saw it, too bad Lasse Hoile didn't see it that way. Kudos to Charlie for doing it right!

Going to purchase this, but actually a little hesitant to watch the Longest Year video. Katatonia creates amazing pictures in my my head just when I listen. When I watch a video that picture, the imagination goes out the window and I remember the video when I listen. Day and Then the Shade video is pretty damn good, so I have high hopes.
