The Longest Year, a new four track EP from Swedish masters of melancholy Katatonia is released on Peaceville Records on March 15th.
Alongside new single The Longest Year, taken from the recent Night is the New Day album, this new EP also features the previously unreleased track Sold Heart, Day & Then the Shade remix and an alternative version of Idle Blood plus the videos for both The Longest Year directed by Charlie Granberg (Katatonia, My Dying Bride) and Day & Then The Shade directed by Lasse Hoile (Porcupine Tree, Opeth).
The EP is now available to pre-order from the Peaceville store. The video for The Longest Year will be online next week so check back for more details. Here are a couple of stills from the shoot.

Katatonia has been confirmed to appear on the Ylex stage between 16-17 pm at Finland’s Ilosaarirock on Saturday, July 17th.
We’re happy to announce that we’ve added a few gigs in a couple of territories we’ve never or seldom previously visited. The new dates include Bordeaux (France), Tel Aviv (Israel), Sofia (Bulgaria), St Petersburg (Russia) and Moscow (Russia). For more info, check the tour dates section.

We’re pleased to welcome our finnish friends and dark heavyweights Swallow The Sun as the direct support for the New Night Over Europe 2010 tour. Opening act on the tour will be the hypnotic German instrumentalists Long Distance Calling. Both bands have featured guest vocals by Jonas Renkse and rumours say there might be a chance that Jonas will join them one of the nights for an extra performance. We think this is nothing but an excellent fitting package and we’re sure you all feel the same, so come out and celebrate the darkness and sing the songs with us!
