Ok I'm sure everyone else has said this but this video sucks. I was really surprised...in a bad way. At first I thought it was a bad fan video or something but nope. I couldn't get through the first 5 min. So I say REDO! REDO the video for your awesome fans! Plus when's the next North American tour??!!

Wow, i'm overwhelmed by shallowness. It seems like Katatonia still has to work on their visual image until it reaches the high level of their music and the depth of their lyrics. This video isn't connected to the song at all, something more abstract would fit way better. The short image of the red skyline isn't that bad, yet it seems like it was thrown into the clip randomly.
The new album is mindblowing, this song is utterly beautiful, but its video is just an epic failure. Is there any chance you guys will have it redone? You deserve better!

This video is UTTER crap, with all those to-be-expected semi-gothic clichés. By the way, this song is so dull and disposable, just like this entire record. A pity, since these guys have been my favourite songwritters for at least 10 years. I love their entire carrer, but this record just makes me miss even the TGCD (never thought I'd say this, since that was their least good album to date... until now) days.

What can I say?? I'm really really disappointed with this video... I love Katatonia... I mean I REALLY love Katatonia but this is the kind of trashy comb over crap I'd expect to be pumped out by some trendy emo or goth band... or the bands mentioned in deliberations post below. It's just so middle of the road... a perfect cliche... no... it's just terrible. Katatonia please re-make this video! You're too good for this!

This video is mind-numbingly dumb and inauthentic. The editing alone doesn't even flow with the audio. I'm been along for the ride and listening to the band since the Jhva Elohim Meth... days and this just seems to be a complete betrayal to the fans. Where's the honesty and originality at guys? You are better than this, Katatonia, and the new album confirms it. For shame.

this style of video clips are for lame trendy bands like moonspell, him, sentenced vs. whose only function is to make money by selling their stuff to teenagers who don't have a deep taste in music yet. katatonia is too good for this. i think this is a disadvantage of becoming too big as a band and they cannot avoid being commercial anymore. i don't want to remember katatonia with stuff like this. they have released many many great albums and they don't even have a bad song. when i saw this i was like "what the hell is going on??"

there are many things i would like to complain about the video in a production way but it's about katatonia to talk here. it doesn't fit the music i think. it should be more of an abstract way that fits to the video in a kind of mood or when people then something real, perhaps minimal colours, rough looking imigary and tell a story in the real world.

this video is too placative. i see a nice clean garden in the background, that could be in my city nearby, some girls croushing, bleeding - that doesn't fit at all. it's too much, too overblown. it didn't feel creepy or something at all...
look at the abstract animation stuff with the house and the red sky - this is somekind of image i like to see all the time. the director should work with jonas side by side to translate his words, not just do something "popular", katatonia is not emocore or something.

The music is plain awesome, as usuale.

The video is popular creepy goth-chick, American Horror-style, jerky-twitchy filming and digitally enhanced trash.

Personally, I always thought Katatonia could do with a more Porcupine Tree-Tool-Pink Floyd-esque videoclip.

This just doesn't work for me and apparently I'm not alone with that thought :)

On the other hand i'm trying to see this from a different perspective. We, fans of katas music wont stop being fans because of a video that they problably had not much to do to begin with, and maybe the video will bring them more mainstream audience and money. It pisses me off, but thats the way of the world. Labels want to sell albuns...

The album is amazing. The video its not. Not for Katatonia. It just doesn't have anything to do with your music, as simple as that.

You know, music videos can be a wonderful form of art. Unfortunately, Lasse Hoile thinks things like whiny emo brats (Way Out of Here), goth lesbians (Porcelain Heart), and lyrical read alongs (Time Flies) are great ideas. And then there's this... Trainwreck. Angsty teens? Check. Pretentious gothic imagery? Check. Spastic undercranking? Yep. I guess that wasn't enough though, so he tossed in some truly shit makeup jobs and awful CG for good measure. But at least it's got that trademark Lasse Hoile stamp of cheap-looking crispness that only he (and everyone else who hasn't learned how to use HD yet) can get.

Please stop giving him work. You'll only encourge him.

A video is for promotional reason, cannot see why a lot of you guys are complaining, really! Katatonia is a band and makes music, this is just a videoclip. As usual this is the bad side of the internet: people bashing whenever they can, throwing shit on everything as soon as they can. Katatonia doesnt deserve this, katatonia deserves only support and love, the same as they show to us

I believe you're missing the point. It is because these people love Katatonia and want them to achieve that there is a concern that this video will hold them back. Yes, people will bash things they don't like and conversely can be amazingly sycophantic when moved to. Bare in mind that the band have allowed comments presumably to canvas opinion. The people are speaking as they see it!

Oh, by the way. How does this support and love from Katatonia manifest itself? Did I miss the party? I just assumed they made great music for their own pleasure and we just happen to like/love it too. I might add that a supporting and loving parent provides constructive (admittedly not forthcoming from all commentators) criticism to help their child learn from their errors and help guide them to their benefit. I think Katatonia are great! It's just Lasse's artistic laziness/naivity I take issue with.

I didnt want to agree with most of these, but after seeing the video I felt that although not terrible, it is too disjointed from the song.
It looks like an amateur found a creepy (and parts that looked somewhat silly)looking video and layed your song over it (great song btw).
I went to Lasses website and found some quite interesting work, and I think with better direction it could have been something spectacular as the song is great and the artist definitely has some talent.
Have you heard of the 'tilt shift" technique? that technique in itself is a bit on the weird side and with some cool visuals and direction you would have a very amazing/memorable video.
Perhaps you guys playing with some effects added and some landscapes brought into the fray.
I'm sorry guys but i just wasnt feeling this one.

Well, i think the video itself is pretty good.
It doesn't fit the music...but from a visual point of view, it's good.
The music is too special for that kind of video... i myself, would just love to see the five of you doing the song. But, that is the way "I" would like it.

I love Katatonia, I always did and I guess I always will, but this video SUCKS. Seriously. It's horrible! And the scenario?! There was no such thing for this video! No plan, no thought! i think i just watched "The Ring" and "The Grudge" in 4:26...the girl is hot...but i guess this is what happens when you have a busy schedule with press and shows, and leave it in the hands of a director to create his vision of what they think the song is...Anton Corbijn could of done a lot better...and by saying that...its pretty bad.

A bith to goth for my taste, I was hoping to actually see you play (which I hope you will do in your next video, those videos are always better imo). And during the verse I was imagining more beautiful landscapes and something much more harmonic, not some creepy goth chick crawling around and hugging trees. The song itself is fucking fantastic though, same goes for the whole album. One bad (imo) video isn't the end of the world :)

P.S. Song and video is a perfect match, might not be what I personally had in mind, but with all art this is an individual experience...that's the beauty of art !
